Chris is full-time PhD student in the School of Science and Environment at the University of Worcester.
Chris’s main research interest is uses for modern genetic tools such as CRISPR, RNAi to the development of new biotechnology. His PhD research concerns Alternaria Alternata infection of tomato, evaluating the potential exchange of small RNAs between the plant and fungi during infection, what roles these small RNAs perform and whether this includes cross kingdom gene silencing. The project is also evaluating potential novel targets for RNA induced gene silencing as a protection method for plants in agriculture.
Chris is a member of the British Society of Plant Pathology supervisors are Professor Mahmut Tor and Professor Yiguo Hong.
