Angela is part-time PhD student in the School of Science and Environment at the University of Worcester. 

Project title: Monitoring Markers of Oxidative Stress in Acute Coronary Syndrome (5 year PT PhD studentship supported by the NHS).

Details: Through the research the aims is to improve the early detection and diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Angela is situated at the Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust and has recruited over 151 participants into the study. The development of a high throughput assay for the detection of novel biomarkers that appear in the blood during and after AMI is currently being developed by Angela at University of Worcester.

It is hoped that the research will assist in the diagnosis and stratification of patients who present at the clinic with chest pain.

Her supervisors are Dr Steven Coles and Dr Amy Cherry.

During her PhD, Angela worked as a Cardiology Research Coordinator at Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS trust.
