Andrew has interests in contemporary Literature, criticism, and theory, with additional interests in the philosophy of literature and art, literary theory and literary criticism, and the political economy of culture. 

Teaching and Research

Teaching interests

Andrew teaches on Gothic and Romantic Literature; Literary Forms and Genres; Ways of Reading, Ways of Writing, and Exploding the Canon. He is the module coordinator for Gothic and Romantic Literature and the MA module Evolving Genres.

Research interests

Andrew has interests in contemporary Literature, criticism, and theory. He has published essays on Thomas Pynchon, Jonathan Lethem, John Williams, and China Miéville. His first book, 'Karl Marx', was published with the Routledge Critical Thinkers series in 2021. His second, 'Jameson, Form, and the Contemporary Novel', is forthcoming with Edinburgh University Press.

He is currently completing a third monograph on Kim Stanley Robinson, and writing a book chapter on Free Verse for the 'Routledge Introduction to Poetic Forms' (2022). Andrew is considering a fourth project, for Cambridge University Press, on textual logics and literary form.
