6th Neolithic and Early Bronze Age Research Student Symposium
Friday, 22 November 2019 - Saturday, 23 November 2019
The Neolithic and Early Bronze Age Research Student Symposium (NEBARSS) is an annual conference that brings together research students whose work focuses on aspects of the Neolithic and Early Bronze Age, from the British Isles to the Middle East. Our aim is to provide early career academics with a formal yet relaxed in environment in which they can disseminate their research to fellow postgraduates from across the country.
Beginning in 2014 at the University of Bradford and now in its sixth year, NEBARSS has grown considerably and has become a firm fixture on the archaeological academic calendar. Previous guest speakers have included the likes of Prof. Mike Parker Pearson, Dr. Alex Gibson, Prof. Julian Thomas, and Dr. Chris Fowler. This year’s symposium is being held at the University of Worcester on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November, with Prof. Richard Bradley and Dr. Jodie Lewis joining us as keynote speakers.
The Call for Papers has now closed and the speakers have been selected.
We are also running an Undergraduate Poster Competition this year, with a prize voucher of £60 kindly donated by Oxbow Books for the winner. Students are expected to present posters based on the findings of their independent studies, centred around the Neolithic and Early Bronze Age. Submission forms can be found here and must be returned by Sunday 27th October.
