Our students are seeking voluntary work experience, projects and work-placement opportunities to further develop their skill sets.

Students & Businesses working together

The Logo for Community First

Our students could help your business in various ways, such as initiating internal projects, or developing them further. They can, in effect become a short-term tactical resource. This will help to promote the profile of your organisation, and may also give access to talented graduates for future recruitment needs.

For example, the Citizens’ Advice Bureau recently secured a student to help them promote their services to younger people through digital media.

“We would thoroughly recommend forging links with the University of Worcester”

Tim Bawler South Worcestershire CAB

If the placement forms part of the student’s course, the University will support the student with learning criteria and a tutor to supervise their academic work. Students may also apply for placements on a voluntary basis to gain work experience. In both cases, businesses should be able to offer support to their student, through guidance appropriate to the role.

We have supplied a sample volunteer agreement to clarify the expectations from both sides – you can tailor this to meet both your needs.

Our entire experience was very good. We would absolutely encourage other organisations to offer students an opportunity to develop their skills whilst working towards organisational goals.
