Postgraduate (MA/MSc & PhD) students

Studentships and research grants are available from research councils, the Arts and Humanities Research Council and various charities.

Professional Career Development Loans (PCDL) are available to students on vocational courses who have no other financial support. A PCDL is a deferred repayment bank loan of up to £10,000. For more information telephone Next Step on 0800 100 900 or visit the Directgov website.

Eligible postgraduate students may also apply for financial help from the University’s Access to Learning Fund. 

The Disabled Students’ Allowance is available for postgraduate students. Information on eligibility and how to apply is supplied in the Student Finance England publication 'Bridging the Gap'. POSTGRADUATE TUITION FEES       

Masters Study

For MA/MSc courses, fees for 20111/12 will be £3,870 for full-time students and £430 per 20 credit module for part-time study. However there are set fees for particular master’s courses that differ from this.

Research Degrees

For MPhil/PhD study, fees for 2011/12 will be £3,870 for full-time students and £1020 per annum for part-time study
