Students-Financial Support

10 poundsThe Welfare and Financial Advice Service is here to provide students and potential students at the University of Worcester with welfare and financial advice and support.

The advisers will provide help and information on the subjects of student loans and grants, hardship funds (the Access to Learning Fund), welfare benefits, trust funds and charities, bursaries, financial management, budgeting and maximizing income.

We do not give legal advice but we can help you to identify major elements of your welfare or financial difficulties and provide information, advice and help to resolve them.

We will:

  • Diagnose your problem
  • Explain the options available to you
  • Help you identify further action to take
  • Give basic assistance e.g. Help you fill in forms and draft letters if necessary
  • Contact other organisations for further information if relevant

We also administer the Access to Learning Fund, which is distributed to students experiencing severe financial hardship. The fund is non-repayable and may be applied for at any time during the academic year and even during the long holiday months for some students. Visist the link for more information and to find out how to apply.

We also do a number of workshops and promotions throughout the academic year to help students manage their finances during and beyond university. If you would like to suggest topics for these events, please contact us via the feedback page. Information and resources from some of these workshops and promotions are also available online by using the link above.
