Part-time Work

Part-time Work

The University of Worcester can help you find part-time work alongside your studies to boost your income. Our careers advisory service and Students’ Union can help you find a job and can advise on everything from preparing your CV to interview techniques.

Worcester is the only university in the country with an on-campus Job Pod – a powerful job-search terminal operated by Job Centre Plus.

Employment options
The Students’ Union employs in excess of 100 students in the bar, shop and catering departments. So there are plenty of opportunities to earn much needed cash there.
The Business Development unit on campus supports businesses through projects and consultancy services. This unit works with student placement schemes and may be able to help you find a work placement that will benefit both your course and your bank balance!
You should also check out the staff vacancies page. The University regularly recruits students to work as Student Ambassadors throughout the year and this provides a regular and varied workload. Activities can include helping with Open Day, Graduation Ceremonies, Induction, publicity, UCAS Fairs and a whole range of other events.
The University is located within easy walking distance from the city centre, so many students also find part-time jobs with local shops, restaurants and pubs.

The Careers Advisory Service is fully equipped with a knowledgeable staff team that is on hand to talk you through the opportunities and the application processes. The staff regularly run sessions on interview techniques and will help you to compose your CV. You can continue to access the service after graduation too, so they can help you make the transition from part-time work to a full-time career.
