Finding funding

The Research Funding Office can assist you in finding the right funding for your project. Please contact us if you wish to discuss funding opportunities on a one-to-one basis.

The University currently subscribes to the funding database Research Professional. You can get access to this database from any computer on campus or as a member of UW staff or as a student you can register for an account and get access from anywhere. We strongly recommend that you get a registered account since this gives you access to much greater functionality.

The Research Funding Office can run bespoke training sessions on Research Professional for subject and Institute-wide groups. If you have any questions about Research Professional or would like some bespoke training you should contact us.

There are also a number of free resources that may assist you in your search for funding. These include:

  • Access 4 EU - this portal provides information about funding opportunities for European researchers interested in projects involving countries outside the EU including Australia, China, India and the US.
  • Charity Commission Register - the register of charities in England and Wales that allows you to search by various classifications. This does not hold details about funding opportunities but does provide information about a charity's work.
  • Worcestershire 4 Community - a community funding support website for Worcestershire, it offers search facilities for registered members of government, lottery, trust and local funding opportunities.
