WORCESTER PLAYS HOST TO DRAGONS’ DEN
Three companies pitched their expansion plans and funding requirements to potential business angels. These include Aeristech Limited, based at the Millennium Point building in Birmingham, which is developing turbocharger technology to reduce vehicle CO2 emissions. It is looking to raise a further £100,000 of equity to complement £250,000 already raised through equity and grants.
The event, which was free to attend thanks to sponsorship from Advantage West Midlands, was preceded by an ‘Equity Entrepreneur’ workshop for any would-be angels interested in investing in unquoted companies. Developed at Henley Management College, the workshop include risk evaluation, management team assessment and valuation techniques. Participation automatically entitled delegates to join the Beer & Partners’ investment community, with continued access to investment propositions throughout the year.
Andrew Mitchell, Worcester-based Associate of Beer & Partners, commented:
“This event is part of a series of events we’re hosting across the West Midlands for businesses, investors and professionals to learn more about angel investing. By bringing all parties together with real investment opportunities, we may even stimulate some deals on the night.”
Mike Watts, Business Finance Executive at Advantage West Midlands, added:
“As one of the key priorities for the Agency is to ensure that businesses have access to the right type of finance and related support to help them achieve their aspirations, the Agency is pleased to be able to provide support to Beer & Partners and others to run these types of events.”
