Paramedic Science - Diploma in Higher Education
This course has been designed to further develop the specialist knowledge and skills of those practitioners who already hold an IHCD paramedic qualification.
Opportunities for paramedics to develop their careers and responsibilities are increasing. This course provides a dedicated continuing professional development route for paramedics. This course has a number of mandatory modules that have been carefully selected to develop key skills and knowledge for the qualified paramedic and prepare them to work effectively in a changing health care context. There are a range of optional modules that can be selected to reflect the individual’s interests and clinical skills needs. Modules can be delivered on a flexible basis to suit service constraints for those in full-time work.
This course is only suitable for paramedics who hold the IHCD paramedic award and are registered with the Health Professions Council. To qualify for the award, all modules must be completed within a five year time scale.
Applicants who have undertaken additional study may be eligible for APL/APEL.

Flexible learning opportunities – modules will be run on different days and at different times to allow maximum attendance
Flexible module selections – allows the student to select modules they are interested in
Flexible course – if you need to take a break from studying for 6 months, this can be accommodated
