Counselling BSc (Hons) Top-up Degree
This Top-up degree has been designed to provide advanced critical insight and information related to counselling for those with a previous qualification in this area. This course is currently awaiting validation.
A variety of reports by central government and professional bodies have identified the growing demand for counselling amongst the general public and private and public businesses.
You will investigate and critically evaluate theories of counselling, while developing and demonstrating research skills and theoretical methodologies.

A recognised HND or Foundation degree in Counselling or a related discipline. If you have completed two years of study in higher education in a subject related to counselling you can apply to join the Top-up degree programme.
You will need to be in counselling employment (whether paid or unpaid) or a counselling setting in order to undertake some of the modules. Please contact us for more specific information.

Employability
This course will enable you to access a range of counselling-focused careers and related employment opportunities. Many students will often be employed while undertaking the Top-up course or will have come from recent Counselling study or related employment.
This Top-up degree enhances your professional development and employability. Specific careers in counselling or working with clients in a health and social care setting will be open to successful graduates.
Students may also proceed to higher degrees in research or on to postgraduate study.
