Q - How can I get a copy of your prospectus?
A - You can order a copy online by clicking here.  Complete the form and we will post you a prospectus.

Q - How do I apply?
A - If you are applying for an undergraduate course then you need to apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, UCAS www.ucas.com. If you are applying for the IFD, taught Masters course or a research degree then apply through our Overseas Application for Admission form.

Q - Where is Worcester?
A - Worcester is located in the West Midlands just 40 minutes south of Birmingham, 60 miles north of Bristol in the beautiful Heart of England. The M5 motorway passes through Worcester, 2 train stations are located in the city centre and we are on the national bus route. London is 2.5 hours away and is easy to reach by public transport or by car.

Q - How far is the campus from the city?
A - It is just a ten-minute walk along the riverside into the city. Buses run approximately every twenty minutes between the University campus and the city centre.

Q - What is the weather like in Worcester?
A - The UK weather is varied with cooler wetter weather in the north and a milder drier climate in the south. Worcester is in the Midlands meaning the weather can be varied. You should bring a selection of clothing including some warm and waterproof clothes. During our summer months the UK switches to daylight saving (between April and mid-October) so we have longer summer days. Over the winter months it gets dark around 16.00 and during summer it stays light until 21.00.

Q - Where will I live?
A - We have three Halls of Residence on campus accommodating 500 students. All International students are eligible for Halls accommodation but you should apply early. If you prefer off-campus accommodation then we are able to help with further information. Most off-campus accommodation is located in St John’s, which is a quiet residential area within easy walking distance of the campus.

Q - If I am staying in Halls of Residence, what is included in my rent?
A - Most bills are included, electricity, water and gas. Extra costs will be a television licence - colour licence costs £126.50 and a black and white licence costs £42.00 per annum. A Halls of Residence licence does not cover you unless you only watch TV in a communal area. If you watch or record TV programmes in your room, you need your own TV Licence. You are required by law to have one and can buy one at a Post Office or online. Be warned there is a fine of up to £1,000.

Q - Do the Halls of Residence have a cleaner?
A - Yes, a cleaner visits daily in term time and cleans communal areas. It is your responsibility to ensure that your room is communal areas are kept clean, tidy and bins are emptied.

Q - When do I need to send the accommodation form back?
A - The form needs to be returned to the accommodation office as soon as possible to ensure your place in Halls of Residence.

Q - When and where do I pay my rent?
A - You will receive an invoice for your rent from the accommodation office and information is provided with it explaining how you can pay. Rent is paid through the finance department.

Q - Are my belongings insured?
A - No, you need to arrange insurance for your belongings when living in Halls of Residence or private accommodation. You also need to arrange travel insurance when travelling between the UK and your home country.

Q - Will I have to share my bedroom?
A - No, all rooms in our Halls of Residence are single so you will have your own bedroom. You will share communal areas such as the bathroom, kitchen and lounge (not all flats have a lounge), but you will not share a bedroom. Some bedrooms also have en suite bathrooms.

Q - When should I pay my tuition fees?
A - Tuition fees need to be paid before you start your course and can be paid by bank transfer or electronic transfer.

Q - Is there a supermarket nearby?
A - On campus there is a Students’ Union shop where you can buy basic items. A supermarket is located in St John’s within easy walking distance of campus. The nearest Chinese supermarket, Wing Yip, is located in Birmingham (www.wingyip.com)

Q - I am worried that I am not fluent in English
A - Coming to the UK is not just about improving your English; it is also about experiencing a new culture. We want to help you improve your language skills and have an excellent language centre offering you the chance to advance your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Q - Can I work while studying?
A - Most International students are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during term-time but this will not be the case for all International students. Your home country depends on the visa you are granted. We advise you to contact the British Embassy in your home country for further information. Q - I have a question about my visa, who can help me?
A - Your first point of call should be the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website www.fco.gov.uk as most answers can be found here and it provides you with contact information for the nearest British Embassy in your country who can give you up-to-date information. You can also contact the International Centre who will help you with any queries.

Q - Do I need to register with the police?
A - On entry into the UK your passport will be stamped. If your entry stamp states that you must register, then you must register with the local Police Station within seven days of arriving. You will need your passport, passport photos and pay a small registration fee currently £34.00.

Q - Can I send my luggage ahead before I leave?
A - Yes, it is possible to send your belongings in advance but luggage should not arrive more than two or three days before your own arrival. Ensure that it is labelled clearly with your name and for the attention of the Head of Residential Campus Services. It is important that you notify the Head of Residential Campus Services before sending it. Address as follows:
