Repository Service
Repository Service
University of Worcester has two online repositories designed to support all aspects of the work of academic staff. A service to support the use of these valuable resources is being developed via a JISC-funded project Developing Repositories at Worcester (DRaW Project). Further information can be found at: http://www.worc.ac.uk/drawproject/
1) WRaP is the Worcester Research and Publications system. It is the University of Worcester’s institutional research repository containing copies of the publications and research written by staff and their colleagues from the institution. WRaP is searchable on the Internet worldwide and therefore provides the following opportunities for staff as researchers to:-
- Disseminate their work, free, to the world
- Securely store their work
- Use the details to include in CVs and other publications
- Search and read publications written by colleagues at UoW
WRaP can be accessed at http://eprints.worc.ac.uk/ and articles may be easily uploaded by following a simple workflow, taking just a few minutes if you have the details to hand. Some guidelines are available if required, together with advice and assistance from the librarians who will check the details on the system and make publications live and therefore viewable worldwide.
2) The University of Worcester Content Repository for teaching and learning materials can be found on the logged in Staff page of the university web pages
Just click on the Content Repository link and you can search for and also submit teaching resources to share.
The collection is growing and allows staff the opportunity to:-
- Search for useful teaching materials
- Securely store their work
- Choose whether they wish to share resources with all staff at UoW or select specific groups, or indeed keep these within their own private area online that only they can access.
- Once resources are placed in the Content Repository these can be made visible to students by placing a link to them within the Blackboard learning system, any other virtual learning environment, or on a web page.
For more information or assistance in using the Content Repository you can email the E-learning Team at eos@worc.ac.uk
