Network Drives

Network Drives

N: Drive

Your N: drive is your own personal space on the network, think of it as your floppy disk or USB memory stick on the network that only you can see it and save to.

Your N: drive is 1GB in size and will appear on any machine on campus that you log on to with your network credentials.

The N: drive is also backed up every night, so data can be restored if lost or corrupted, you can recover data yourself by right clicking on the folder containing the files and selecting properties and the previou versions tab.

O: Drive

You can access the O: drive to view shared data. The data can be shared by the entire university, by your department or by a small team, with only specified users having permission to see a particular folder (for example, only staff in ILS can see the ILS folder on the O: drive). Look out for your departmental folder on the O: drive and also useful information within the cross departmental information folder.

You will be allowed to save up to 650 MB worth of data to O: and it will appear on any machine that you log in to with your network credentials.

The O: drive is also backed up every night so data can be restored if it is lost or becomes corrupted, you can recover data yourself by right clicking on the folder containing the files and selecting properties and the previous versions tab.

Accessing Network Drives From Home

It is now possible to access your N: and O: drive files whilst you are off campus, for example whilst working from home or travelling. The Staff File Access WebDav Guide will help you get connected to the University of Worcester file server, log on to the server in a secure way, and manage your files.
