Office 2007 Upgrade

About Office 2007 Upgrade

ILS has upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to 2007 on student PCs over the summer, this included all teaching lecterns and PC labs.

If you currently use the Office suite as part of teaching you can upgrade the application on your staff PC (see the right-hand column on this page) or you can log a request for an upgrade at: http://eris.worc.ac.uk/customerportal

Any documents, including PowerPoint presentations that were created in 2003 will still run on the 2007 platform.

We are initially covering the following topics:

  • PowerPoint
  • Word
  • Major differences between 2003 and 2007.

We provide a one to one training program and an email support line at mailto:k.johnson@worc.ac.uk

We also provide links to online training material on the Tabs at the top of this page for you to go through at your own pace.  If you have any queries please email Tim Johnson on k.johnson@worc.ac.uk.

FAQ

There are lots of ways to find information on this site:

  • For very quick answers, view Useful Guides.
  • The  documents about Word Tabs and Ribbons on these pages show what you can find under the different tabs, they are about 3 pages long.
  • The other Word documents which accompany the Screencasts are "How to ..." instructions and are about one page long.
  • All the FAQ answers are created as videos and as Word documents.  We have tried to keep them very short, the majority will be only 3-4 minutes long.
  • Each video is matched to one of the "How to" guides and you might find it useful to print out the Word document before you watch the video so you can make notes.
  • The Microsoft videos are very long about 20-40 minutes but they are useful if you want to gain a wider understanding of part of Office 2007.
  • The Software Made Simple Books you will need a password which you can obtain from the "eLearning and Teaching Technologies" team in ILS at mailto:eos@worc.ac.uk
If you can't find an answer to your question in one of the resources here please email me, Tim, on k.johnson@worc.ac.uk or please do contact me if you want to suggest something that you have found useful.
