Assessment
Assessment consists of two parts:
1. Short presentation on research – the student is asked to give a 10 minute presentation on their research to their peers (this will take place 16:00-18:30 on 29 Nov, 30 Nov, 1 Dec) and then to respond to questions for up to 5 minutes. A written-up version of the presentation must be submitted along with any presentation materials (e.g. powerpoint, overheads, handouts, etc).
2. Research proposal (1000 words) – the student is asked to produce a research proposal that conforms to the criteria for the RDB1 (Approval of Research Proposal), which sets out the research question to be addressed; the research context; the methodology and methods or critical framework; the timescales; and key references.

• Late Submission of Written Assignments after 5 days of deadline - work to be treated as a non-submission unless a claim of exceptional mitigating circumstances is subsequently made and upheld, in which case the original assignment may be marked.
Re-assessment and failure
If you do not submit your work within this time scale, it will be recorded as a non-submission at the Board of Examiners meeting. Non-submission of assessment items will result in failure of the module with no right of reassessment. This means that you will need to retake the module.
