Assessment, Deadlines and Submission

Assessment, Deadlines and Submission

Assessment

Assessment will consist of an assignment with 2 parts:

  1. A conference paper which can be effectively delivered in 20 minutes at the RTP Conference.  Students will be expected to respond to questions for up to 10 minutes.  Presentation materials must be submitted along with any notes but the notes do not need to be written up in a formal style.
  2. A written version of the conference paper (approx. 2500 words) fully referenced and written and presented in keeping with an identified journal within the relevant subject area.

Submission of assignments

Submission will be electronic - details will be provided shortly

Deadline for Parts 1 & 2: 12 noon, Tue 5 June 2012

With regard late submission, RTP402 is subject to the regulations of the Postgraduate Regulatory Framework.  The following rules apply:
• Late Submission of Written Assignments within 5 days of deadline - work to be marked but capped at minimum pass mark (50%), unless a claim of exceptional mitigating circumstances is subsequently made and upheld, in which case the actual mark will be recorded.
• Late Submission of Written Assignments after 5 days of deadline - work to be treated as a non-submission unless a claim of exceptional mitigating circumstances is subsequently made and upheld, in which case the original assignment may be marked.

Re-assessment and failure

If you do not submit your work within this time scale, it will be recorded as a non-submission at the Board of Examiners meeting.  Non-submission of assessment items will result in failure of the module with no right of reassessment.  This means that you will need to retake the module.
