The University of Worcester's research degrees are currently accredited by Coventry University. The University, however, has decided to seek its own research degree awarding powers and submitted an initial application for these powers to the Privy Council in October 2008.

This application makes a case that the University of Worcester has in place the systems and culture to assure and enhance the quality of its research and its research degrees.
