Wimba
Wimba
Wimba Collaborative Learning software is a suite of applications which provide tools to create and present online content to learners, providing them with a virtual classroom experience. Even when the student is unable to attend a class, they are able to contribute and communicate during lessons as they would in a lecture on site. This software also supports other blended learning approaches, giving instructors full control over what, how and when they teach.
Classroom
Wimba Classroom is a virtual classroom environment, integrated and available within Blackboard. Tutors can add this functionality to existing courses, and include audio, video and application sharing as part of their modules. Wimba classroom also includes the ability not only to present content, but also get learners involved and collaborate using chat areas, virtual whiteboards and quizzes, polls and surveys. Its pedagogical design is aimed to promote closer links with teacher and student in a similar way to face to face instruction in lectures on campus.

Voice
Wimba Voice facilitates vocal instruction, collaboration and assessment using the instructor’s voice to help explain complex material, narrate visual material and even conduct verbal discussions through the voice discussion board.
Other features include the ability to create and upload podcasts for student subscription, and the ability to send voice comments on assessed work.
