Requests for Information

Requests for information are covered by three forms of legislation:

1. Data Protection Act 1998 - this relates to personal data

2. Environmental Information Regulations Act 2004 - this relates to environmental data

3.  Freedom of Information Act 2000 - this relates to all other data

Personal Data

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 an individual may request access to personal data about themselves.  If an individual wishes to request information about a third person then they must have this person's written consent.

If an individual wants to request information then they should complete a subject access request form which can be downloaded from this page.  If the information is about a third party then the third party's signature is required.

The response will be in writing, and information cannot be given over the telephone.

The University may make a charge for providing the information, a charge of up to £10 is permitted for processing any request.  The University has 40 days in which to reply to any request once it is satisfied that the appropriate permission of the individual has been given.

Other requests for information: non personal data

All other requests for information will be considered to have been made under the Freedom of Information Act even if the request does not specifically state that this is the case.

Application for information must be made in writing and sent to the Freedom of Information Officer, Registrar's Office, University of Worcester, Henwick Grove, Worcester  WR2 6AJ.  Requests via email are acceptable and these should be sent to: foi@worc.ac.uk.

If the information requested is readily available via the University's publication scheme (which is accessed via this page) or from another source then the requestor will be directed to the appropriate source.
