Registered general Nurse 1983
I trained as a general nurse at the Royal Free Hospital, London. As a qualified staff nurse I specialised in general surgery.

Registered Midwife 1985
My midwifery training occurred at the Whittington Hospital, London. Following qualification I worked at University College Hospital, London for a number of years. I gained extensive experience in both hospital based and community midwifery.

My lecturing career began at the Middlesex University, London in 1995.
