Places Still Available on the MSc in European Basketball Coaching Science Course

The MSc European Basketball Coaching Science course will welcome its third cohort of students this summer in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The unique and innovative MSc European Basketball Coaching Science course has been integrated into the FIBA Europe Universitas, and is coordinated by the University of Worcester, UK, in partnership with the Lithuanian Academy for Physical Education and Sport, and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation.

The course allows students to complete study whilst maintaining their personal life and professional careers throughout the year. Places are still available on the course for anyone interested.

Mick Donovan, Head of the University of Worcester’s Institute of Sport & Exercise Science, said: “This unique course offers students the opportunity to develop their understanding and knowledge in a range of key areas within the field of basketball coaching science whilst also learning from some of the best basketball practitioners in the world and of course, from each other.”

Coaches, players and educationalists from around the world will meet in Lithuania between 28th June – 9th July 2012 for an intensive programme of theoretical and practical modes of study.

Lectures, seminars, workshops, on-line tutorials and on-court practical sessions will be delivered by international experts in the field such as Alejandro Vaquero (Spain), Rutenis Paulauskas (Lithuania) and Evaldas Kandratavicius (Lithuania). An integral part of the course will be the integration into the prestigious Lithuanian Coaches Association International Clinic and the opportunity to attend key games at the FIBA Under 17 World Championship for Men.

The course has now established a reputation for attracting a diverse group of basketball academics, elite coaches, athletes and enthusiasts. The current intake of students includes some of Lithuania’s finest players, past and present, such as Linas Kleiza, Robertas Javtokas, Marijonas Petravicius, Arvydas Macijauskas, Dainius Adomaitis, Tomas Delininkaitis and Giedrius Gustas.
