As part of the Love Worcester Festival, the Infirmary Medical Museum – situated at the University of Worcester’s City Campus – will be hosting a ‘Love your Heart’ day this Saturday, February 15, between 10am and 2pm.
Staff at the museum will be on hand to lead behind-the-scenes tour of the former hospital (11am and 12noon), telling its history of heart surgery.
Families are encouraged to join the tours, and younger visitors will be invited to make paper hearts and take part in heart quizzes.
Visitors will also get a free Health Taster at the McClelland Centre for Health and Wellbeing, where qualified staff will be able to offer advice on fitness and maintaining a healthy heart.
Carol Bowsher, Learning and Access Officer at the Infirmary medical Museum, says: “We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors on Saturday, for what is going to be a brilliant day of hearing about keeping your heart healthy, which ties in with National Heart Month.”
Admission to the exhibition and to the McClelland Centre is free, and a small charge applies for craft activities. No pre-booking is required.
