A team of managers from an international company have completed a leadership and management programme with the University of Worcester’s Business School.
The managers from Worcester-based Southco Manufacturing Ltd attended a special awards ceremony at the Business School to collect their University Diploma in Leadership and Management.
The diploma was an adaptation of the University’s established ‘Leading to Excellence’ management development programme, and was delivered jointly by Southco and Worcester Business school.
Su Austin, Director of HRD for the European region from Southco, said: “Worcester Business School’s approach allowed us to take time to fully understand the business need and together we developed a solution to achieve our leadership and development objectives. As an employer, Southco is committed to the development of our people and this is a good example of our approach.”
Tim Maxfield, Director of Business Development in the Business School, said: “We are delighted to have worked with Southco. This type of programme emphasises the role the Business School can play in the development of the local and regional economy.
“Up-skilling in the area of leadership and management is a high priority in the West Midlands and this programme presents a model of partnership that does a great deal to address this need.”
