Facilities
The Institute of Education provides everything you need to support your learning.
Specialist facilities
Our vibrant academic community is based at the St John’s campus. We offer specialist facilities, including lecture theatres equipped with the latest multimedia technology, brand new science laboratories, art and drama studios and first-rate sports facilities.
School classrooms
The Institute has rooms set out as primary classrooms, which model resources found in schools, including specialist rooms for different curriculum areas such as art, science, maths and English.
Library resources
The library catalogue is fully networked, enabling you to check details at any time, to make reservations, or to renew existing loans. There is heavy investment in electronic information with subscriptions to many specialist databases.
The Hive is the first joint public and university library in Europe, built next to the City Campus.
Information technology
We have undergone significant refurbishment over recent years and have a ‘Modern Classroom Programme’ and wireless network, which received an Innovation Through Technology Award. Open access computers are available across the campus and we also have a scheme that loans laptops to students on ITE programmes.
