THE HOUSING AND DEMENTIA RESEARCH CONSORTIUM

Knowledge and learning exchange event:

26 April 2018

University of Worcester Arena

Natural Connections: innovative approaches to green care for people living with dementia.

Further details can be found here

In this 2018 conference, we will share and discuss learning, knowledge and innovative solutions relating to enabling people living with dementia to maintain a connection to the natural environment and the outdoors. We will hear about recent research exploring green dementia care in long-term accommodation and care settings, personal experience of the impact of nature on people living with dementia and programmes and projects that provide nature-based activities for people living with dementia.

There will be speakers from different fields (academics, third sector organisations, housing providers and people living with dementia), workshops and round table discussions. Delegates at this conference will be the first to hear the full findings of two research projects: a pilot study conducted by the HDRC and ADS on green dementia care opportunities, barriers and good practice in long-term accommodation and care settings; the ROAM (Rehabilitation for Outdoor Activity and Mobility) study conducted by Nottingham University.
