Dr Laura Purdy joined the University of Worcester in 2011. Her research and teaching principally address the sociological and pedagogical aspects of coaching practice. Specifically, her publications have focused on the lived experiences of coaches and athletes in relation to the concepts of identity, power and interaction. She has coached rowers from novice level through to the sub-elite level, including junior, adaptive, senior and veteran.
Laura is an Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Graduate Journal of Sport, Exercise & Physical Education Research. She is also an editorial board member and reviewer for a range of peer reviewed journals including: Sports Coaching Review (Editorial Board), Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy, Qualitative Research in Sport, Exercise and Health, International Journal of Sport Science and Coaching, International Journal of Coaching Science.
