Centre for Early ChildhoodThis Centre is responsible for courses and research in Early Childhood. We are a dynamic team who provide a variety of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses, promote and model interdisciplinary working and have developed and maintain strong working partnerships with external bodies and other institutions.

Courses

Our provision of courses is diverse; designed to provide a range of career options and be flexible in terms of modes of study.

Courses available include the BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood (Practitioner Options), the Early Years Sector-Endorsed Foundation Degree and the BA (Hons) Top-Up Degree in Integrated Early Childhood Studies.

A range of Post-Graduate qualifications are also available, including an MA in Early Childhood and PGCert in Mentoring in Early Childhood. We are also proud to be providers for the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS).

Quality Assured

Education (including Early Childhood Studies) was assessed externally in 2000 by QAA. It achieved 23 points out of 24.

Partnership

Many of our courses are run in partnership with Local Authorities, Further Education Colleges and other training providers.
