Michael Berry is celebrating after earning First Class Honours in his degree in Business, Marketing and Economics.
“I’m very happy that I could make my parents proud,” said the 22-year-old from Swindon. “My mum and dad sacrificed an awful lot for me to get to the position I am now; I can't thank them enough. This has been a combination of hard work and great support from family, friends, work colleagues and lecturers.”
He added: “University was an experience in my life I will never forget. Academia aside, I arrived at university not knowing a soul and leaving many friends and family at home which is always a daunting thing. But over my four years I learnt to become truly independent and developed essential life skills as well as making very loyal great friends.
“It has also taught me that hard work and effort really does pay of and not just at university. I believe that Worcester has developed my work ethic and the lecturers have been truly excellent, very giving with their time and energy and inspiring me to learn and push myself further then I believed capable.”
Michael, whose brother Joe is due to start at the University of Worcester in September, is currently taking part in the Worcester Bosch Group graduate scheme in Marketing and Product Management.
“This is a company that took me on during my work placement year as well as offering me work during my final year in the Product Management department,” he said. “This position was my dream job where I essentially put into practice 90% of the things I learnt/enjoyed at university within a great company that provides huge value to both the local community and the whole of the UK.”
