Alexa-Jane Moore has already taken the first few steps on the career ladder, and for her, this has involved ensuring that other young people know which path they themselves would like to follow.
Alexa-Jane, from Tenbury, graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Accounting. During her three years at Worcester, she also picked up invaluable voluntary experience which has set her on the way to her professional ambition – to become a Careers Advisor.
After teaching English in Romania during the summer, Alexa-Jane began a job at Worcester’s Archway Academy in September. Here, she helps to guide students through their functional skills studies, including teaching a personal development module, which prepares them to make career choices.
The 23 year-old is also a Youth Ambassador for Youth Employment UK, the country’s leading organisation dedicated to tackling the issue of unemployment among young people. She has recently been named President of the organisation’s new Worcester Hub.
Alexa-Jane is now studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Mentoring and Coaching, also at Worcester.
Roger Saunders, who was Alexa-Jane’s academic tutor, adds: “Alexa-Jane has worked incredibly hard both on her own studies and on her extra-curricular achievements. More than this, she has worked tirelessly on behalf of the students both as a Student Representative and also as Institute Representative.
“She is a natural leader, a great communicator and has enhanced the University during the time she has been here.”
