Careers Service Aims

We aim to equip our students with the skills, attributes and resources to plan and manage their career, personal and professional development and lifelong learning.
More specifically, we aim to enable students to achieve a level of self-awareness and self-confidence to make decisions and plan suitable paths to achieve their chosen goals.
To do this, students need to develop skills of self awareness, research and analysis, reflection and review, making and enacting plans, and the ability to articulate and present themselves in order to make the most of available opportunities.

We will do this by:

  • Providing information, advice and guidance and support at key stages, from both university and community based pre-entry services through to graduation and beyond.
  • Identifying, creating, developing and maintaining appropriate resources and encouraging the effective use by students.
  • Working with colleagues to help them develop the skills and knowledge to enhance the employability of all our students.
  • Working with employers and other external partners to develop a mutual understanding of the opportunities available, the skills required, and the attributes offered by University of Worcester students.
