I have been in my role of Work Based Learning Tutor for three and a half years, having previously worked in Registry Services at the University of Worcester since 2007, and really enjoy working with Foundation Degree students and staff.
As well as this employment, over the last fifteen years I have studied both Speech and Language Therapy and Primary Education, and have worked with children for a lot of this time (primarily ages 0 10) which has given me much experience and insight in supporting our students on the FD Health & Social Care, Mental Health and Child & Adolescent Mental Health courses. I have also completed some informal and formal counselling skills training which has been invaluable when supporting students at various points on their course.
I am involved with teaching sessions for both Level 4 and Level 5 students on work based learning modules, and am currently applying for Associate Fellowship from the HEA. In addition, I am also embarking on an action research project with my WBL tutor colleagues and Foundation Degree Programme Lead looking at experiential work based learning from a lecturers perspective.
