Working with the Community

University of Worcester in the Community

The University of Worcester employs over 600 people and provides Higher Education for some 8,000 students. Many staff and students live and work in and around the University and are a vital part of the local community.

In addition, the University of Worcester has an active role in the Community and has excellent relationships with the City and County Councils in both Herefordshire and Worcestershire and strong links across the education, business and health communities. Many of our mature students are leaders in business, the public services, teachers and health professionals employed locally.

The University of Worcester hosts a wide variety of clubs, societies, events and conferences and the community are welcome to come along and take advantage of the many excellent facilities, such as the Sports Centre, Drama Studio, Learning Resource Centre, Digital Arts Centre and Conference facilities.

A wide range of opportunities are on offer such as playing in the local City Orchestra, joining in keep fit classes, yoga, Pilates, self defence, supporting sports teams, taking part in Archaeology days, Rock & Fossil roadshows, Art exhibitions... and much more.
